I totally disagree with the posts on here that say Tulsa is not ready for a Jack station! We should have had one 2 years ago all the stations in Tulsa are great but lets face it we have all of these stations playing the same things! I have always longed for a Jack station ever since moving here from Dallas! Jack rocks and Tulsa needs a Jack station I have told all of my friends about the Jack format and there very excited I can only hope we get a Jack FM station soon!

A good HD-2 format suggestion.

Out of curiousity, what HD-2 channels would you like to see in Tulsa?

I think 2008 will be the year that most of the major stations roll into HD and HD-2.

Throw our your wish list.

Dallas has several HD-2 cool channels.

actually I don;t know the radio business so i have no idea what hd-2 stations are unless you mean high def I would just love to see Jackfm in Tulsa

Josie

There are multiple formats I'd love to see on HD channels:

all-80s,
1940s - 1970s country,
"New Age" (used to be called NAC, then swallowed up by Smooth Jazz),
"Unplugged" (all acoustic),
Americana,
30s, 40s & 50s radio shows,
Christian CHR,
Motivational Talk (anybody remember WNN / The Winners News Network?),
Active Rock,
Soft AC,
&
Dance / Club.

I figure me might see all-80s on Mix or KBEZ, Americana on KVOO, Christian CHR on KXOJ, Active Rock on Star, Soft AC on KBEZ, and Dance / Club on K-Hits.

Or none of the above. :D

Well something has to give! Tulsa Radio has gone to pot! As far as mix 96 they have sent me several surveys about what music they need to play, And I have answered 2 of them which takes approx 30 min per survey why they keep contacting me I have no clue! But mix plays like the same 20 songs over and over! We need something new in Tulsa! A new format!

They are better than most. I wish they would loosen up a bit, but they sound better than KBEZ. The weekend 80s show is pretty cool.

Anytime a radio station invites you to take a survey, do it. Especially if they pay you. Some pay $75 to $100. Take the money and run.

Heck, even a free pizza is worth it. Most stations pay attention to the surveys. The only one that doesn't matter is RATE-THE-MUSIC. Skip that one since nobody trusts it.

Send a note to the PD. Most will take the time to respond.

Hell I don;t even listen to Tulsa stations anymore I click on the jackfm dallas website, at least its songs that you dont hear in T Town! Maybe with all of the illegals moving out of state they will change 101.5 back to something descent! But god forbid it be a rap or oldies station!

We (Cox) put a lot of faith into our online music surveys. In fact, I take the survey just like a listener would so that I get a say as well.

Ah, yes. Online callout. We use it as well. It's been a valuable tool for us. Although, we are a female targeted radio station. Therefore, for me me to take the survey would be kind of a waste of time. While we do factor in adult men a little, we mostly looke at the women's responses to make our decisions.

How are you liking afternoons, Matt?

Cox is a low pressure company to work for. As long as you know your place and operate within your role, you're good.
