JACK over??

How many more crappy ratings books will it take for this non-format to fall out of favor in the "GM's Club"?Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Dallas, etc. are ALL heading downhill or(in the case of the first two markets)were non-starters. Here's an idea....go back to 70s-based oldies (classic top-40) but don't use the"O" word! Demos: 45-54. Better than a 2-share "adult hits" station!

Likewise Baltimore's WQSR which had flipped from Oldies to Jack. Ratings about equal to final oldies ratings.

Yes, Baltimore too. You're right.Philly's BEN-FM is doing a little better but isn't one of the JACK stations consulted by the "JACK-FM" guy...

has any1 seen the new CRACK-FM Bilboards. What a joke.

It may take the end of the year or when the reports come out that WCBS-FM l had a dramatic loss in advertising revenues before the suits at CBS decide to drop the JACK format on WCBS-FM New York. Thanks,Kevin L. Sealy

Funny this thread popped up. Earlier today I had emailed Brian Thomas (the PD of 101.1 Jack FM in NYC) and concerning the ratings, he said the following...
"Most people only see the 12+ numbers, but 25-54 Jack is up +47% from January to March. The demographic profile during winter was fantastic almost 80% in (25-54) demo."
I guess theres more to the whole deal if you look more than skin-deep. I read somewhere that the REAL demo they're looking at is the 35-44 demo.

Jack's real numbers

I don't where their PD was quoting ratings from, but their Fall 25-54 numbers were in the low 2s and their Spring 25-54 was down 0.1 from their fall. In January, they were in the upper 1s, then lower 2s in February and March they were in the mid 2s. Perhaps that's where he's getting "we're up 47%" - using "here's where we were that month and here's what we had in March". But, I don't think you can exactly conclude their ratings are up that much because, well, they aren't.The only good news for Jack/NY is that it appears they've at least stopped the downward spiral and there is a little light at the end of the tunnel and I guess even a dim bit of light has to be encouraging for them. They got a proven PD and all but now is the time to get it in gear and do SOMETHING with it.

shame it had to Go away.... But Its better than Jack and better than Ben. it was Radio TED... Boy I wish I could sell that format..

If "Jack" is adding information updates every morning with the people from 1010 WINS, I don't know what to do. "Jack" is going down the drain. The ratings is still getting worse. I've heard that the Los Angeles version of "Jack" did a great job and it does well in the ratings. The New York version is not getting any numbers. I'm not a "Jack" listener.
