JACK question

Someone please explain JACK to me? I don't get why some people think it's so great. The only other one I have heard is the one out of Dallas, but the one at 99.3 is not near as good. I get the whole attitude and the "we don't take requests" thing, but the music is not any different than anything you would hear on MIX, 96X, or KDOK at any given time. I really thought there would be some type of an "oh wow" factor to some of their music, but it's just the same old tired stuff everyone else is playing.

I've been listening to JACK since it came on the air a little over a week ago trying to figure it out, but after hearing "Paradise City" by Guns N Roses for the 20th time I finally had to turn it off.

We all bitch about the way radio has gone over the past 10 years with the whole voicetracking thing and all, but here is a format that not only has no jocks, but no local feel at all. No local news, weather, or promotions.

I was really looking forward to having a new choice in East Texas, but it turns out to be the same stuff...different station.

It's basically somebody's iPod on steroids.

As for local promotions, I did hear Charlie O. broadcasting from Bennigan's leading into St. Patrick's Day.

It will be interesting to see how the playlist evolves over time. Keep in mind they just made the switch not long ago at all.

JACK FM is an adult hits format that plays music from the 60's,70's,80's,90's, & today.
