Jack question

According to Absolute Astronomy's website:

"WBUF does not use Howard Cogan because they are located at 92.9 MHz; they are trying to distance themselves from Toronto's 92.5 Jack FMCJAQ-FM
CJAQ-FM is a Canada radio station, broadcasting at 92.5 FM radio in Toronto, Ontario. The station uses the Rock music/Classic rock format and uses the Jack FM brand....
, as both stations can be picked up easily in most of each other's markets."

BUT

Jack FM Toronto is no more. It's now CKIS (Kiss 92, once again)

SO

Does this mean Regent will re hire Howard Cogan to do the Jack voice overs once again, or will things remain par the course?

Is it costly to hire Mr. Cogan? (vs what they have now)

Cogan is back on WBUF as of a few months ago according to wikipedia

Thanks. Being from Toronto in an area that makes 92.9 hard to pick up, I failed to notice this.

When I'm in Buffalo or Niagara falls area next, I'll be sure to give it a quick listen, then switch to one of the other stations on the dial.

(sorry, but I decided that I'd rather support radio talent!)

Hmmm...sounds like they're trying to go after the 97 rocker with some non rock tunes thrown in that won't scare that rocker away. (I'm guessing)
Like Dead or alive's version of You spin me round tossed in with Beck's Loser and David Bowie's Dancin' with myself.

If that's not the case, Jack should have tried to be more daring by playing Boom tang boy's version of dancing with myself instead.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully one day Buffalo radio will get better.
(with more radio djs to go with the music!)

You were closer with Dead Or Alive and Bowie, I think, than with Beck. But your observation about Jack competing with 97 Rock has some merit. 97 Rock crushes Jack, but there's an argument to be made that 97 would be doing even better if Jack wasn't a stone in 97's shoe from time to time. Those 80's songs on Jack sometimes present a demographic hurdle for 97.

I didn't know Bowie did "Dancin' With Myself". I thought that was Billy Idol.

I think there were a few different cover tunes out there, but you may still be correct.
