Jack Riccardi Sounded Good on WRKO

Jack Riccardi, who is a native of Newton, and probably the son of the DPW head under Governor Volpe, Jack Riccardi, was a fill-in today in the 9 -12 spot on RKO.

He said he is currently in Texas,( Corpus Christi ???) and he was in Buffalo before that.

He was thoughtful and not a knee jerk conservative which probably excludes him from a full time spot on WRKO.

Still, he is the most professional host they have had on in months. He has a good mellow voice and an easy manner.

RKO should bring him back to Boston full-time in the 9-12 spot.

He does have a nice voice... And, yes, he supports gay marriage. But, he has "unalloyed support for the war in Iraq" according to his website. And he's a self-described 'Bauerhead' as in the show '24.' (Which, I concede, I love to watch, but it's fiction and things don't work in the real world way they do for Jack Bauer on the set.) So, I suspect Riccardi is considered crazy wild in Texas, but he's pretty much mainstream conservative as far as Massachusetts goes.

I'd like to see lib/con male/female co-hosts with diverse views on a range of issues; not just politics, not just local.

Does anyone think Scotto's job is on the line?

Scooto has had the morning show alone since March and has gone down in the ratings every month. He is ranked 20th in the market, and you ask if you think his job is on the line? Are you serious? He is only there because he has no job to go to. He will not see Feb 1, on RKO.
Job on the line? He never should have been put on air. He will leave and NOBODY will notice or care. Where will he turn up next?
He won't.
 
I am sure Scotto will be gone. He had his chance and he blew it by conforming to the politics of the station and not his own beliefs if he ever had any. In summary Scott Allen Miller is a phony. He will say just about anything the management wants him to say to keep his job. Now, his credibility is gone.
Also, great to hear Margery O'Neill Clapprood Spinazola on this morning instead of Scooto. Did I hear Pat Whitley on with her for a bit as well. Makes you wish for the good old days ... smoke and all. Hope Margery has given up the habit.

As to Jack Riccardi, he would be a refreshing change.

I thought Jack Riccardi was going to be on Friday as well as Thursday but Moe Lausier was hosting.
