Jack SA vs Bob Austin

Lots of folks on this board like to point to the demise of Bob's ratings by what they see in a 12+ TREND which is a completely unweighted number for Arbitron. Fact is, they have been number one in their target of 25-54 for coming up on 5 ratings periods. Also, Bob in Austin has been the most successful Bob/Ted/Jack/Ben clone/station (ratings wise) in the counrty thus far. Therefore I think it's worthwhile to point out the differences people have seen so far between Jack and Bob.

Bob:

Jocks (although limited, still a live personality)
Plays currents
Traffic Reports
No Station Promotions
Limited remotes
Attitude is 'positive'

Jack:

No Jocks (Dallas Jack has a morning news person)
A lot of attitude
bad production
better variety of deeper cuts

Thoughs anyone? Should at least be very interesting to see who gets hit by Jack in SA. Magic? KJ? K-Zep? Kiss? With Jack's variety I bet they take a little from everyone.

I think Magic 105.3, 101.9, Jammin 94.1 and maybe KZEP will take the biggest hits. But let's see how well Jack does this far south.

Should be interesting to see how Jack FM does, especially with such a large overlap from KBPA. Most of North San Antonio can clearly receive 103.5.

What Jack FM lacks (no jocks) it makes up in the music. I heard Jack FM at Con's today and listened to it on the way home and have to admit that there is a bigger variety in music than Bob. I don't think that KZEP, 96.1, KQXT are gona be affected, but Magic 105 may be in trouble. They usually play the same tired out songs from the last 2 1/2 decades. But all I have to say is that I'm glad KONO didn't get the boot for Jack and KROCK did. What a waste of 3 years.

It appears to me that JACK's playlist has more rock than pop and BOB's is vice versa. My wife had the same reaction when I asked her to sample JACK. She didn't like JACK as much for that reason.

I agree that both are heavily reliant on 80s tracks.

I replaced BOB in my car radio presets with JACK. I wonder how many others will do the same.

LOL! COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE ON THAT LAST PART! Seems like someone in CBS should have paid for how they have repeatedly screwed up that signal since the old KTFM days.
