All Access is reporting that Jack Sharpe, a former WEBR personality, helicopter traffic reporter, and Amherst Supervisor, passed away this past week at the age of 80.

SHARPE started in radio in 1952 as night news editor at WEBR-A/BUFFALO, becoming the second helicopter traffic reporter in the nation in 1959, a position he held through 1974. He also served as a Supervisor for the Town of AMHERST, NY in 1975-1990 before his retirement and was inducted into the BUFFALO BROADCASTERS HALL OF FAME in 1999.
