I wouldn't say so. Jack FM in B-lo is a more purist Jack (does that exist). They play Aerosmith, ABBA, etc. Jack FM Toronto leans more classic rock. While WBUF easily reaches Toronto, Jack CJAQ Toronto likely doesn't reach B-lo. Given that BUF had marginal numbers in Toronto prior to the Jack flip, and that Jack in Toronto isn't tearing up the ratings ladder, I can't see it being a big deal.

There is some sense in the whole Jack thing selling each other, even if they are competing owners. It's a brand name, a brand you can sell nationally, a brand people are familiar with. Just it's wierd that it's owned by more than 1 company.

Or could be that Jack & Jack are playing on the tourist factor? BLK often pimps what's up in Toronto, and I've heard Kiss 98.5 do it, so maybe Jack B-lo is hoping that Buffalonians going to Toronto this summer for holidays will tune into Jack Toronto? Seems bizare, but it does keep the brand in your head.

*Quite Possibly..as the other post-er put it -
Buffalo reaches toronto / but, Toronto has trouble reaching [here].

*Now, why do it ? "play" on the average listener...

Most will listen to "jack" ( .. and, to MOST people, esp. in buffalo...)
they will swear it was 92...something...and, this way - they
can expand their audience by having them to listen to
'generic_jack (toronto).'

it's not like, "Jack-Buffalo" has the same tag line...as
WKSE..for example:

"..WNY's #1 hit music station..."
"..or the beat of ~Niagara~"

it is just...

"Jack FM..[smart azz comment]..this is Jack-FM"
it's quiet possibly the same voice guy..soo, i give
them credit, although it is unusual !
