Jack to be syndicated by ABC

To counter Jones' SAM format, ABC Radio Networks has licensed "Jack FM" from Wall Media, and will launch a 24-7 "Jack FM" format to be syndicated throughout the country.

IMHO, this could be more popular for them than many other of their 24-7 formats, and may make it into some bigger markets due to the fact that personality and local presentation aren't an essential part of the format.

But many other 24/7 satellite-fed music formats that would equally save large-market stations lots of money aren't being heard on big-signal large-market FM stations.

I'm not sure a large-market station would run a satellite-fed version of "Jack". But some smaller-market stations might.

According to All Access, they are only licenesed for markets 40+, so there won't be any markets that are too big. But, because Jack is basically a canned format already that runs automated in most markets, I would think that if it were available some markets Top 10 and below might look into it more so than they would a personality driven format like AC, CHR, Oldies, Rock, etc.

Will the satellite Jack FM feed be able to incorporate liners with local references? I'm not all that clear on the local elements of satellite-delivered formats.

Yes, satellite formats can incorporate their own liners and spots.

When the heck is the sparknet JackFM only coming to Albany New York Already? Infinity or ABC Radio can buy out WTRY from CC and turn it Jack. WTRY isn't so hot anymore for oldies, same 300 burnouts everyday which is terrible, sound qaulity went down the toliet and the djs except for john gabriel are the worst, WTRY couldn't be a more perfect station for the real JackFM from Sparknet. We do not want any of those other immo jacks here at all, they are not the same as the Infinity/Sparknet Jacks, we need Infinity or ABC Radio to step up to the plate for putting Sparknets Jack FM Here already.
