Jack: website and jingles

There really isn't much on jack's website except an audio link. I was surprised that jack would have one since oldies 96.3 didn't have one. The URL to the web site is 963jackfm.com.

I was comparing our jack with the one in Kansas City. Both stations have the same jingles except for one word. The KC jingle says "WE are the reason we do what we do" while ours says "you are the reason we do what we do."

Is Jack picked up by local stations by satalite feed or is it locally programmed . since the only thing that seems local is advertisement and call letters. voicers etc. How do these Jack stations with no jocks, no news, no weather reports. and no public service announcements keep their licsense? Or is public servics a thing of the past as far as Uncle Charley is conserned?

A: Jack is programmed locally. Most do use the same voice guy. At least the "offical" ones.

B: About public services...no. No news or weather is required. Only a legal and some content. Although the legal doesn't matter much now-a-days.

Thanks. I have been out of radio for a while now and did not know the rules of the game any more. When I started a 3rd phone with broadcast endorcements was required but that went out the window too.

Oldies 96.3 did have a website. In fact, that URL resolves to the Jack website now. It was www.oldies963.com

What I meant to say was that I was surprised that 96.3 has an audio link. As far as I know Oldies 96.3 didn't have an audio link. AS of now both of their stations WCJK and WJXA now have audio links.
