Jack with a BEAT??

I was checking out a new format being distributed by zapoleon media today and was wondering how successfull you all thought this format might be. It seems as though they are using the Jack formula but just with a beat. It seems to take motown hits, disco, 80's up tempo hits. It kinda sounds like Jack FM but with a beat. So give it a listen and let us know if you think it would take off

The new format is Rhythm & Gold from the fertile minds of Famous Amos & Anita Bonita of (say it with me kids!) Buzznet Media. It was cooked up during the period that the original JACK-FM was simmering in the vat at our secret programming labs here in NYC. Take a listen and tell me if it isn't a winner!

Tell us it isn't true, Jack. Another variety-type "format"
that Jack haters can bitch about on here all over again.
Stop the madness. You need to think about doing the normal
thing for radio --- becoming a boring traditionalist and
never think outside the 72 song playlist.

Seems something similar to the Diva format in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.<P ID="signature">______________

I heard it earlier this summer when it was streaming from Jack's site--it sounded good then. Especially loved the vintage jingles, but it is a great-sounding mix. I think it would be very competitive with V103 and Love FM in Chicago.

RnG is back on jack.fm...not that we planned it that way, but a rather nasty storm took down the music server and it will need replacing (and the server room a good airing out)!

It worked last night on Musicmatch Jukebox 10 with the stream from Zapoleon--still sounds really good. It is definitely what Jammin' Oldies should've sounded like, with just enough familiarity and the right "oh-wow" quotient (last night, that in particular was Wing and a Prayer Drum Corps' "Baby Face" and how Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back" fit in). Find the right airstaff (and the indications are that Amos, Anita and Zapoloeon want the format to be used with DJs) and the potential is there.

Definatly would work in Boston.

This is what Star 93.7 SHOULD have been.

Toss in some NON Rap RnB currents.

It sounds good to me. I would like to see Jack and Rhythm and Gold everywhere.

Thank you Jack.
