I just tuned it and must have missed her (since it's after 2). I heard some wanna be J times 3 trying to "jolla" over the latest Beyonce record. I didn't realize Power played that lame song....how is that hip hop? not to mention, Disturbia...gimmie a break.

I wouldn't worry about what music they're currently playing. Power will soon no longer be the "hip hop station" as it has been for a long while now. Look for something real soon as far as a moniker change. Something containing "the valleys #1 for hits "or "hit music station". They're going hit driven in preparation for ppm and even changing their logo to minic the Hot 97 logo. It's coming soon from the Power camp along with more firings.

Wow. Never thought I'd see the day when KKFR was a Mainstream Top 40 station. Didn't think they would try it again after 14 years.

Good detective work, CHRwatcher. Should be interesting to see if this actually does help them in the PPM.

Hot 97 in New York also plays disturbia, and they are one of the leading and most known hip hop stations in the U.S. With the changes going on in top 40/rhythmic music today, songs like that are once again becoming the norm on urban or urban rhythmic stations. Music has evolved, and mainstream dance hits are on the way to being played on the same stations as hip hop once again. The pure hip hop times have past, now that hip hop as we know it is currently in a state of decline. It is sensible for Power to pick up Disturbia, just like Power 106 in LA did and Hot 97 in New York did, which are both "hip hop" stations.

So you are saying it is OK to be fake as long as somebody else did it 1st? NOT....they know they are not true hip hop, which is why they ditched that slogan.
