You might want to go back and review recent ratings. WMXL had been a shadow of it's previous self the past several years and it could be (likely) the previous P.D. was the reason, which would explain why he's not there anymore (or, should we say why *you* aren't there anymore?). I'd been through Lexington on the way to the Carolinas several times and my impression was not a good one. I've heard them maybe once this year and thought they sounded OK.

If you have a problem with some people at Clear Channel, perhaps you should be an adult and address it directly and personally with them instead of flaming your face off and looking like a bitter, mediocre radio hack.

Dale O'Brian was one of the problems at that station...There was a host of others as well....Dale is a talented guy, but had lost his passion and work ethic...Music is not being done out of Louisville..It's being programmed in Lexington by one of the other PD's in the building....The station hasn't been great in a while, but I think they are sounding as well as they can at the moment...It is Clear Channel, so it justs sounds like every other AC in the country

Have a sales person pull up 25-54 persons, the only real demo that indicates success for most stations. Consistently over the past several years clear channel has the highest collective shares and a look at a miller-kaplan would tell you cc takes over 60% of the revenue out of the market. sixty percent.

do your homework, will you, and stop looking a a 12+ trend from R&R to make such definitive statements.

Criticizing JJ Jackson doesn't get to the heart of the problem. He was pretty much told that he's going to voicetrack mornings on MIX in Lexington. You certainly can't lay the blame on the PD of the station, either. He's trying to juggle 4 of the cluster's stations and he's doing the very best job he can, given the circumstances and with minimal staff. The problem starts with some of the decisions made by management between CC Lexington & CC Louisville. It's a shame that the FM frequency with the longest heritage in that market is just being wasted. I'm not going to criticize the current air talent on MIX, either because they're just trying to do the job they were given. Granted, they may not be the best talent in the market but they had two choices: either voicetrack the shift they were told to track or find a new job. I'm very curious to find out what happens after the Spring book advances roll in.

I've met J.J. and he's a good guy. Long before the meeting I submitted an aircheck of his work at WQXI to Reelradio. If you have a subscription give it a listen. He is a good jock.

However, if he is having to juggle more than one show then performance flaw are not his fault. We have to think of the Vice Presidents and their precious end of year bonuses.

JJ seems like a nice guy - never met him though. It's sad that it was all about personal issues that led to Dale O'Brian getting the boot. The Louie PD out of CC Louisville was the one that was really handling the programming for MIX 94.5 and was trying to take the station in a direction to make it sound more like Louie instead of the kind of hot AC it should be. Dale committed the mortal sin of daring to question the "wisdom" of the Louisville programming braintrust.
