Jackson, TN Stations

I noticed in today's transactions section of Radio and Records website that Clear Channel Communications sold Jackson, TN News/Sports, Country, and Classic Rock stations. WTJS, WTNV, and WYNU were sold to Forever Communications. Based on the area code for the contact number for Forever, they seem to be from Eastern Kentucky. They own seven other stations. Has these stations been on the market long and will others follow?
Edited by BigSteveG on 02/07/06 01:58 AM.

For the love of God! Will it ever end? Will I ever escape the company I once worked for. This company is based in PA, and are the creators of FROGGY. Please not another Froggy station! I may have to move again!

Careful, there's a few former frogs who post here, myself included!

Let's ask Hoppy Gilmore how cool it was!

I wanted to be Snoop Froggy Frog, but got stuck with Splash Gordon.

Hoppy Gilmore!? Who was that?..Oh yeah...
Well, Splash...Don't blame "Hoppy Gilmore" on me.
YOU picked it out.
I shouldn't complain...there were a lot worse than mine.
"Ribbit Redford" "Hop-A-Long","Jack JUmper", the list goes on.
It was definately different.

I believe David Hopperfield is doing marketing at Sam's Town...if he's the guy I'm thinking of. The female half of your morning show will know who I'm talking about.

Thanks, Bill...you had to bring up Tad Pole....:-/

Think I was the only "frog" that was allowed a somewhat normal (lol!) name with a frog stuck in the middle. Although everyone used to tell me that the name China would have made a great dancer's name at Platinum Plus...yikes!

Glad I can just be "me" now...

Chris is no longer with Sam's Town.
Rhonda Cloud took his place.
I haven't heard from him since he left...and I don't know the story behind it.
They apparently tried to get him to go to their Vegas properties for a while a couple of years ago.
Maybe the competition got him or something.
I would like to know as I lost his home #. I doubt if the cell I still have works since it was theirs.

Okay, so I was thinking of the right guy. I met Chris a few years ago while I was still at Wizard. Seemed like a pretty good guy.

From what I heard, Chris got fed up and quit. He drove a truck for a while and saved up some money. He is relaxing and looking for a new gig now.

Frog Names

How would you like to have been stuck as Jumpin Jack Flash? Cue the Stones! Matt always said he liked that name so that's what I was stuck with. haha...

I remember when Mark Anthony was Jumpin Jack Flash (before Steve West took over the name). He used to say that having the Jack Flash name made him feel like a jock on a 60s Top 40 station.
