Great gosh a mighty, I saw an earlier post with threads dramatically extolling the virtues of Jacksonville radio dj's past and present and throwing around the word "legend" like all you have to do is crack open a mike for a while, hang in there, read some liners, do some contests and you're GREAT.
There have been exactly four...count 'em, FOUR...legends in the history of Jacksonville radio. They are as follows:
1) Greaseman
2) Jay Thomas
3) Hoyle Dempsey
4) Robbie Rose
Arthur? I admire his longevity but he is NOT entertaining. He is not legendary. You don't get into the hall of fame for batting .250 for 25 years. There have been many good jocks, even some great ones that passed through for a year or two...But they were and are not legends. There's your list. Try to add names if you will, but you will only make an arse out of yourself.
