Jagger out? RJ Choppy in?

Would The Edge bring him back? Hell, the whole crew?

Did Jagger and Clear Channel part on amicable terms?

Vydra is a sweetheart and a great person, but bringing Jagger back to his roots and letting him do the show he was good at - not forced to do - would be a good situation...No?

CC isn't about spending money if they don't have to. They are also about being all music in the morning ( except Kradick) on their stations. Having said that, I wonder how their ratings are on the Edge with all music now vs. their previous show with Billy Madison and crew.

If Cumulus put the ticket on an fm, isn't the only option 93.3?
Have you seen 93.3's ratings?
They're not taking it away, it's finally starting to get some ratings.

Now 96.7 once the merger goes through? Oh yeah. WBAP has a 50KW flamethrower, an FM signal for them is icing on a powerful cake. KTCK has a 5KW tin can with string. They could use an FM signal to get the people that listen to ESPN and the Fan becaus ethey get lousy AM reception...

And like I've said before, if The Ticket could land a good FM signal, it wouldn't surprise me if they were to get some Ranger, Cowboys, and Maverick games.

KTCK had the Cowboys and it really did not help them. I'm sure the Stars would like it for their games.

No because when they takeover Citadel they will own two country stations, The Wolf and KSCS. You would figure one of those would change formats, so why not put the Ticket on one of those signals ?

They could try to put it on 96.7. But if and when this buyout it complete, most of the changes will be the support staff and not on-air product/personnel.

WBAP on 96.7 probably isnt goin anywhere. You may not like political talk, but that was one of the best moves for wbap.

As for choppy, so what, another hack sports talk show. Like there aren't enough of those.

KESN should be worried, because they are slowly going to slip into 3rd place for sports talk. I think RAGE has something...just not enough to make me a P1. Going local is always the best thing.

+1 Choppy is going to fit right in at the FAN

Ben/Skin, Choppy, Richie, they're all filler. No strong LEADING men like ticket mornings or afternoons, Galloway or even Russ for that part. Greggo is not a lead either. The Fan will never lead the race without something extremely special, and they have not cast that personality to date.

Choppy is on friendly terms with the Ticket and probably would be there if they had room for him weekdays.

(Ben & Skin, whose show I never cared for, and Elf would still be on the Ticket as well. But nobody's going anywhere for a long while. No matter what Rhyner says. :) )

As for Jagger going back to The Edge, well, CC has a recent penchant for rehiring former morning jocks. Think KEGL.

I think their poor signal turned off the listener and the ratings for games.

Talked to a few sources in the Dallas area who told me Jagger doesn't have a single offer but also said they didn't think he was looking either.

Then why would they leave him on the air until April 8th? Severance possibly... Also, might they be flipping say 107.5 or 100.3 and plan to have him, Mondo and Dean back on air mornings on some sort of Amp format? Julie still works for JACK right? She could replace Jasmine easily... just a thought.

I'm sure it has something to do with transition or when the contracts expire. Don't have a clear answer on that.

I think Jagger will get an offer at some point, I just don't think we'll know about it for awhile. If what I'm told is accurate and he's really not looking right now, maybe we won't see him reappear at all.

Who knows.

Maybe

If I'm Jagger, I can't be too upset. The show could have very easily been dumped in December 2008, and again at the end of 09. Once it got past then, who knew what to think?

East coast sounding guys don't work here unless it's syndicated ( Mike and Mike), and they're ratings don't come close to the Musers. Rhyner, Corby, Danny, George Dunham on the Ticket, Galloway on ESPN all sound like the market. As far as RJ goes, I don't think it really matters at this point. Maybe he can adopt a drawl between now and when he starts. The Fan needs to put someone in mornings who is from here. How about RJ and Greggo ? Thay actually could work.

Either you never heard their ESPN show or my sarcasm detector is broken.

How'd you know he got dumped? I think he resigned, I also think someone else offered him a radio job either here in Dallas or somewhere else.
