Jagger Out?

Well, we know he's out :D but are his days numbered at The Fan Fail? According to Richie Whitt Wally Lynn joins The Fan from mornings on ESPN Radio in Austin.

A little help for The Fan is on the way, as - yeah, I jumped the gun last week - long-time local voice Wally Lynn joins 105.3 on May 1.

The Wally & Barskey Show???

I'm sure this time, Wally be be a ratings hit in the market. ::)

Such sarcasm! ;D
Sarcasm or truth?

The first time I remember Wally was him and Leon Simon doing nights at KLIF back in the early 90's. When the Ticket showed up, and KLIF went more sports, they went with Mike Fisher (IIRC) against the Hardline in middays. So Wally (for whatever reason) didn't even get moved up to a better daypart on the station he was on. And I know he's been around for ever, but what has he been doing? I just googled his name, and came up with a bunch of odds and ends (working with Choppy at ESPN, doing sports in Austin, hosting some Cowboys players show) but has he been doing regular radio?

And can you beat the Ticket, at their game, with a collection of so-so talents, guys from minor markets, guys with no radio experience, etc? I know a lot of people hate the Ticket, but they are a Marconi winner. They're almost always top 2 with Men 25-54, and they're one of the top billers in the market. I'd say they've got it figured out- and as I just said, can you beat them at their game (sportstalk) with a bunch of hu-hum talent?

Because, with all due respect to Jagger, Richie, etc, there isn't a single host on that station that if I was starting a sports station in another market that I'd say " HIM, that's the guy I've got to have". And I'd throw Wally on that list. Nice guy (from what I hear), good generic sports talker, but capable of beating the Ticket? I just don't see it...

The Wally & Barskey Show???

Why don't they change the stupid format? You know this format will not work on here.

I remember when Wally and Leon were on KLIF. I would listen on the odd occasion when Galloway was talking about something I had no interest in. Fisher was a whole 'nother thing. Couldn't stand to listen to him much. The only thing going for him was using Sinatra tuns to open his show.

Not surprised one bit I knew it was only a matter of time before Jagger got the boot. Once they fired Mondo & Dean the writing was on the wall.

Or get rid of Barskey and keep Jasmine and call it Mornings with Wally and The Beaver. ;D

WEhy don't they save all the trouble and dump everybody and change the format to a music station like KROQ in Los Angeles. I think that might work here.

So Walter is going to start on The Fan on a SATURDAY!!!!! This has to be a typo. Are you sure its not May 3, 2010.

Jeff, who are you?

You seem to think you know a lot but every time you give an opinion it is wrong.

It doesn't appear that Jagger is going anywhere. Are you sure there aren't underlying reasons for you hatred of him and this station?

Do you work one of the other sports stations?

Oh Mavstar... I never said that Jagger was out. If you read the first post again you'd see I merely posed the question could Jagger be out due to the addition of Wally from mornings on ESPN in Austin. For the record I do not hate Jagger... I love Jagger - I think he's great. I do hate The Fan but that is not because of any competition it is merely a very bad station that needs to stop playing "sports station" and let The little Ticket and ESPN handle sports in D/FW. That's just my opinion - but what do I know?
