He talks sports for about 10 minutes & then moves onto random topics. His football knowledge is limited & he will not be able to compete w/ Ticket or ESPN. I don't see management keeping him around.

You are pretty generous with that "talent" word in a thread about The Fan.

No, Jagger's knowledge for COWBOYS football is sort of limited being that he is a Steelers fan. Jagger knows football, but HOW can 1 show that didn't start out a sports show compete with the Ticket and ESPN.
The managers know that he wasn't a sports talk guy, but if they want to keep fans around they are keeping Jagger probably until Jagger gives the F.U to management.

I think you give "management" way too much credit. I think the decision went like this
<<New York CBS Headquarters>>
Big-Shot Manager - "Hey, this FreeFM thing didn't work out. To justify my paycheck I will now propose we do the exact same thing, except with sports! We'll call the stations 'The Fan' because, hey, we're from New Yowk and everyone love Da' Fan!!!"
Everyone - "Yeah, Da' Fan is awsome! We need to spread the awsomeness to the rest of the poor poor US that doesn't have the priviledge of getting to live in New Yowk!"
Some guy - "What do we do with this station in Dallas"
Big-Shot Manager - "Well, we need to keep the morning show, because everyone knows that the morning show is the anchor of the station. The morning show is the one show that everyone who listens to 105.3 identifies with. So we need to keep that to keep the audience and then we'll build sports programming around it"
Some guy - "But what about the afternoon guy"
Big-Shot Manager - "What about him? Fire him! He's just an afternoon drive guy. Everyone knows the anchor is the morning show! Now who wants to go out for a pizza pie and a Yankees game!"

jeffdfw said:I agree. I quit listening to Jagger a couple weeks ago. I was a faithful listener for years since he started at The Edge but I have had enough. If I wanted to hear sports talk I would listen to one of the two sports stations in D/FW (The Ticket or ESPN). The show is not entertaining, the crew seems like they are just mailing it in and Jagger is acting like a total a$$ to what little callers they have. I am willling to bet that most of their fan texts or instant feedbacks are written ahead of time and are not sent in by listeners. The rest of the day is unlistenable. I imagine they will flip formats around the first of they year.
