Jagger's numbers?

What did Jagger's ratings look like before he left and went to 105.3?

Strongest area was M 18-24 #2 overall and #5 W 18-24. Faded at 24 and Dead at 34. That was territory Howard owned. Stern was obnoxiously large 25-34 and 34-44. Jagger should be set for a great run with rediscovery by listeners that left KDGE in the last few years or leave with him now, his competition changing from the Howard Stern juggernaut to the Lex & Terry joke, and the Russ factor.

Jagger and 105.3 in general will take a hit if The Ticket goes to FM.

Across the country the industry is watching how Infinity has bungled the loss of Howard. The entire FM Talk format is up for grabs. That's probably a major motivation for The Ticket's rumored move to FM. And don't be surprised if other radio companies launch some FM Talkers--maybe even here in Dallas.

105.3 will have Russ, but based on Infinity-Dallas' track record for finding new talent, that's ALL 105.3 is likely to EVER have.

Game on.

Ok, so that is naive at best.

The idea of FREE was to copy KLLI and KLSX - the two stations in the format that are actually stations and have been very successful. A bold move on the heels of the JACK success. With every passing hour Dallas & LA regain more control over their stations. KLLI built itself and will be just fine. I seem to recall some hack at CC making the same combative and idiotic statements when they put FOX Sports 1190 on the dial to show The Ticket a thing or two. That guy is out of the business.

Riddle me this batman. Why would THE TICKET tinker with the formula of a cash cow like THE TICKET?
It ain’t broke.

Speaking of the post-howard era, heres a great link about DLR and his AM Drive choking:

I don't know...it seems that they've already upped their talent by bringing Jagger and crew onboard, as long as he and Russ don't get into a pissing contest.

A pissing contest between two shows might not be a bad thing. Could get a larger croud to tune in to see what happens.

True. It's an old trick going back to the "golden age of radio". Expect it to happen before the year is out.

They were a success WITH Howard, home slice. Now KLLI has Russ, and that's it. Errr... which was exactly the point of my first post: The loss of Howard has made all of his former affiliates massively vulnerable.

By the way, JACK's decline continues with every trend. Maybe if Dallas' version of JACK weren't sooooo AC, then more hip folks would listen to it. But that's another topic.

And to answer your next question:

> Riddle me this batman. Why would THE TICKET tinker with the

For many young males, the AM dial just doesn't exist. That makes a move to FM pretty tempting. And, again, with Howard gone, now's as good a time as ever to take a male-targeted station to FM.

Re: Pissing contest

They could battle over who gets to take Trey Trenholm home for the weekend.

The Tickets IS on FM....it's 104.1. I am a P1 and listen to the FM signal 90% of the time.

True enough. But you understand, don't you, why 104.1 doesn't impact this conversation much?
