Jake Hartford ?

Is Jake Hartford still on the air somewhere ? I remember him from WLS, I think he was overweight or ugly as he had a horse for a picture on the web page. I believe he was fired in a cost cutting spree. WLS didnt lose much, he did not seem like a very good on air personality. I never hear him on any other stations so I figured he was off the air.

Jake is on WCPT AM/FM. His show starts at 6AM on the FM's 92.5, 92.7 and 99.9. His show starts up
at 7:15AM on 820AM this time of the year. I should probably mention that he is on Saturday mornings ::).

I know the AM can be heard in Racine. So you could listen to him there or at www.chicagoprogressivetalk.com
(even though it sounds like you really don't care too ;D. You are correct Jake was let go from WLS along with
a few other people in a cost cutting(hatchet) move.

I really think Jake has a great show, I think he has a great sense of humor and has a very entertaining show. In
fact he is about the only show I listen to on the station, but, everyone's tastes are different. I don't know how many
times you listened to his show, but, I know his type of humor takes some time to grow on some people.

I am not a huge fan of Jake (or talk radio in general) but I thought Jake had a good show on WLS. I was rather surprised when they dropped him. I was even more surprised when he showed up on WCPT. Unless I am mistaken, I don't think his political views mesh too well with the station's. Anyway, his show incorporates a lot of "shtik", but it's fun and he gets a good response from his listeners. And it's live and local, in a time when most programming is dead and distant!

Actually, starting tomorrow, December 27th, Jake's show will move an hour later on the FM stations, giving him a 7 AM to 11 AM slot. As usual, the AM will join as the FCC mandates.

I'm glad to hear Jake is still on the radio in Chicago. He's a good man - a devoted family man - and fun to listen to on the radio.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Jake at WLS.

Jake, if you happen to see this...Happy New Year to you, Miss Dill Pickle and the kids! :)
