Jake is in the air!

.

But where in the air?

  • In the lake?
    On a stake?
    On the make?
    On the take?
    Eating cake?
    Truly fake?
    With a flake?
    Pondering a mistake?
    Not quite awake?
    Richtering a shake?
    At a clambake?

Anyone know?

.

I noticed he wasn't on today on WCPT. Robert Feder wrote last week on Vocalo.org that Drew Hayes
was trying to get him back on WLS, hopefully sometime in April.

I hope they do! Saturday morning just ain't the same without stories about Ms.Dill Pickle and the happening's
at Green Jake-ers ;D

He's already been taken off WCPT's website. They replaced him with more re runs. One can only scratch their
head as to why WCPT get's such good ratings?? ???

Yep, they're trying to get him back for Saturday morning.

I'm sorry I tried to link it for you directly, but it's not working right.
You can go to www.vocalo.org and hit blogs at the top of the page and click on Feder.
It is the fifth blog on the page from 3/23/10.

LONG LIVE JAKE! :D

Ho hum. I attempted to listen to him but found it to be a drag. He seemed to take great delight in sounding amateurish. To each his or her own but I believe he should be on WHPK.

Jake has fun on the radio and his audience does too! It's not meant to be thought provoking, heavy, or to solve any of the world's pressing problems. Personally I think the best local radio happens when hosts don't take themselves too seriously.

Another guy I think falls into this category is "Mike Jackson Outdoors". His show is little more than a pitch for his two or three advertisers but he keeps it fun by sounding really small town, despite his "National Network" (Ha)! If only he wouldn't spend half of what is supposed to be a show about the outdoors carping about Cook County politicians. That gets old fast.

Personally I'd rather have more programs like Jake on the radio than the crap that's on those high dial time brokered AM's!

.

I agree with your comments audioguy. Jake manages to get most of the topics covered, but in a lighthearted and humorous way. That's why I'm an avid listener to his show and if this WLS AM deal comes about I'll be tuned in and calling in!

And to the snobby elitists...I'm sorry Jake's show isn't your cup of tea. You might be happier having a cup of coffee. Be careful...it's H-O-T !

And "Mike Jackson Outdoors"...where and when on the dial can I find this program? It sounds like something I would enjoy listening to.

Thanks.

Catch Mike Sundays at 6 a.m. on WSBC, AM 1240 or WCFJ, AM 1470.

Or try the web site: http://www.mikejacksonoutdoors.com/ where you can listen online.

Another who does not taek himself too seriously is Mike Nowak on WCPT. I'm not a gardener but much of his show takes in alot of "green" areas plus an indepth weather summary from former WBBM-TV weather guy, Rick Di Maio. Even the heavier stuff has soem humor and irony added in.

I saw a picture of Jake, maybe he being so fat turns me off. I lost 50 lbs and looking at him is like smelling cigarette smoke by a former smoker. He and Greg Jerrett should have a weight loss contest.
