Interesting FM Skip opening Saturday morning brought in my first 2 FM countries (other than Canada). "RJ 94-FM" heard all alone on 94.9 for a couple of minutes at 10:09am, with "9:09" time check, mention of slogan, several phone numbers and Radio Jamaica web site. My first non-US/Canada FM logging, #910 overall since May 2003, at a distance of approximately 1640 miles.
Later, "MORE-94" from Nassau, Bahamas in quite strong for a good half hour on 94.9, logged in at 11:17am, Bahamas #1 for me, at about 1170 miles. Lots of commercials on this station.
A bit later I heard Mega-94.9 (Miami) briefly, (heard many times before) but nothing else ID'd during this opening. I was hoping to pick up a few new Floridas.
I'm using a newly acquired modified Denon TU-720 tuner, with nine-element roof mounted antenna. There should be more openings in the next several days as we are right around the Summer Solstace peak.
