James Gabbert - Legends Lunch 9/20

Just a quick note to let everyone know that there are still a few seats available for the Broadcast Legends lunch next Thursday (September 20) in Berkeley.

You don't have to be a Legends member to attend, and it's guaranteed to be a great show.

Reserve online at:

Just a quick note about what a great event this was today. James Gabbert put on a tremendous show, telling tales about his life and career that were simply amazing.

Spotted in the crowd were countless local media celebs, including Sam Van Zandt, Dana Jang, John Mack Flanagan, Brad Kava, Trish Bell, Hoyt Smith, Michael Lincoln, Don Mozley, Bob Lazich, Terry Lowry, Al Hart, Franklin Mieuli and some guy who blesses this board with his presence from time to time, my great friend RickRadio, as well as many other members of the Legends.

The next Legends Lunch will include the induction ceremony for the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame on December 12 in Berkeley. I hope you'll make time to be there with us.

Wow, thanks for the honorable mention, DJ! You too made my day, buddy!! :D

Yeah, it WAS a blast!!! What a privilege to hang out with DJ, Steve Van Somersen and Len Shelton for a while! And an unparalleled thrill as well to be in the same room with a Who's Who of other broadcast heavyweights! And to have the honor of sitting between no less than John Mack Flanagan and Trish Bell! Great people all! I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Thank you very much, guys!

And yes, Mr. Gabbert's a wonderful gentleman! Very approachable (and funny!), he indeed did NOT disappoint! After 20 years of admiring and wanting to meet the man, I finally did and had a pic taken with him.

I'll remember yesterday for life. :)

Forgive me, Len Shapiro...senility sets in my family early... ???

I originally wrote "Shapiro," and thought I got it wrong...then realized I was right. But by then, it was too late to modify.

It was still a helluva day, though!!! It was great meeting James Garner...

Now to go and try and find a nice, thick coffee filter for my sieve of a mind.

Jeez...

Jeez...rub it in you, guys. It's a very busy time for me at work, and I couldn't get away...but would have loved being there meeting radio celebs such as James Gabbert, John Mack Flanagan, and especially Rickradio and DJ.
