James Gandolfini (1961-2013)

What a tragic loss for his family and friends plus the numerous fans that were endeared to James Gandolfini.
We’ve lost so many talented people this year but to have someone as young as Gandolfini pass comes as a shock.
Jim Gandolfini’s portrayal of Tony Soprano raised the quality of television programming to a new height.

Couldn't have said it better. 51 is WAY too young to die. If you ever saw Gandolfini interviewed (which was rare since he was a rather shy person), you know that he couldn't possibly have been any more different than Tony Soprano. His portayal was a classic - which is not to slight his other excellent portrayals of other characters in film and TV.
