Jamie Massey at the Bull

Wow she was on as late as last night doing traffic. I have said for a long time I thought she should replace Leslie on 99x for a more youthful approach to their audience.

After reading everything about Dylan yesterday I just assumed she was happy he was gone.

Or maybe she sounded happy because she's a pro and is paid to sound that way. Congratulations, Jamie. You're a great personalitiy and deserve to move into a more high profile position than traffic. Cumulus was dumb to have not moved her into Leslie's chair a while ago. Now it's too late.

Between both Massey's move and Slam Duncan from WSIX/Nashville joining the Cledus T. Judd morning show, does this mean Clear Channel is taking building "The Bull" seriously?

I guess Massey will be happy not doing traffic both mornings & afternoons (unless this means we're going to hear her doing traffic for Bull, Project, Legend, and WGST?) But a net minus for Bert Show and Mourning X losing her. Will Jen Fallen be the permenant replacement, or will Cume-luss post for a new traffic person?

She is a pro but she has no idea what she is getting into, Cledus is a very difficult talent and he will chew her up and spit her out. I give her 14 months and she'll be gone.

Why is that? I've worked with many morning hosts and MOST of the time there is an "A" type personality on the show. A guy/girl who comes off likeable on-air but is tough to deal with off the air. Can anyone speak of local hosts that possess such attributes? I heard Larry Wachs was tough. Barnes?
 
What is this "type A persnality" crap??
Some of these morning stars are ASSHOLES! Sorry....no other word/from of expression fits. They are just plain 'ol "full of themselves."
There is no reason to treat coworkers like dirt. It does not have anything to do with being competitive, being a perfectionist, being driven for excellence. It has all to do with acting like a spoiled damned child who needs an asswhoopin'.....
If you really want a team effort....you gotta' coach the team! You gotta' encourage 'em, you gotta' hold 'em......you gotta' love on 'em. For those who are "professionals" and sniff at "helping" coworkers(and don't think you need a team effort to succeed) then all I can tell you is you don't understand your success.
There are 3 people at the station I work at who can make the magic happen if it stops. 3 People. The morning guy makes millions a year....but he can't make the transmitter play. Neither can the afternoon guy.
It is indeed a team effort to make the radio play. If you want your team to help you....then be nice to them.

Well... I was trying to be a little more diplomatic but you're right! I've worked with MANY A-holes! Guys that NEVER said thanks to the people that helped them win in the ratings.
 
When you get right down to the crux of the matter engineers could team up with the sales weasels and rule the world....or at least radio.(Radio first.....then the world.)
Radio "talent" is not of the Bob Hope or Jack Benny variety these days. Steve and Vicky were not George and Gracie. Opie and Anthony are not modern day versions of Abbott and Costello.....
How easy it would be to eliminate every morning show talent in the USA....radio would not even blink!
Yes....engineers are replaceable too. It's just that no sane person wants to work for $60K being on call 24/7. Girls do not call the engineers and offer to boink their brains out. The engineer never gets backstage to do lines of blow with the pop stars nor does anyone ever bring gormet food for the tech who had to work 27 straight hours to make the transmitter quit smoking. The GM makes $500K for playing golf and the morning guy makes $750K+.....and the engineer gets to go on another remote with the spoiled rotten morning staff. He may be rewarded with washing the morning show host's new BMW.
Sales weasels.....well...anyone who can sell intangibles is worth every penny they are paid. Weasel words are as precious as diamonds at a sales meeting with clients. B.S.ing is a fine art which takes years to perfect. You can never replace a "good" salesweasel!

I've SEEN taylorengineer's wife and can NOT imagine any other woman could even come close to making TT turn his head. As I once heard someone say, "You definitely outpunted your coverage on that one!"

How many cubs you got now? Hard to blame her for putting you on the couch. (She is a sweet lady though, and good looking. Even the blind pig gets an acorn now and again)
