Jammin' 103.1 Debuts in Austin

Rhythmic AC Jammin' 103.1 is on the EMF K276EL translator that formerly broadcast the Clear Channel KVET-AM-1300 sports format. It began broadcasting on Tuesday 5/8 at 3pm CT.

The 250 watt translator, which was moved into Austin from San Marcos, TX last year, is being fed by Clear Channel's KVET-HD2-98.1 which had been the "Mother Trucker" format.

According to the CCM+E release, featured artists will be The Isley Brothers, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Rhianna, Flo Rida, and Jennifer Lopez.

The "Jammin" name had been used previously on KFMK-FM-105.9 from 1998-2009.

To bad it couldn't be on a high powered station.

Wonder if there's a stream anywhere?

Anyway, we need some new stations here in SA. Nothing's changed since 97.7 flipped.

As for Jammin 103, I hope they'll do well.

First the KGSR simulcast went away. Now the Zone. Any bets on how long before Entercom puts something new/different on 96.3, currently home to the 1370 simulcast? Emmis still has the KLBJ-AM simulcast, too.

Keep in mind, two LP stations will come on line in SA. One is owned by CC and the other by Cox.

Anyone in Austin have a sample playlist of Jammin' 103.1?

So no more KVET Sports on FM? I couldn't pick up 103.1 in Northwest - Far West Travis county anyway, (can easily pick up 103.1 from SA) but still it was a nice thought. Since I can't get 104.9 that means I listen mostly to 106.9 out of Killeen, oh well i'm learing a lot more about Baylor sports that I ever dreamed possible ;)

If I can get a good signal of 103.1 I can try to make a aircheck. Most of the time KHHL bleeds through.

I picked it up on 38th and Mopac (Camp Mabry) while coming back from San Antonio. They are using some of the old Jammin 105.9 jingles. Heard Stevie B followed by I like it like that by Tito Nieves (not the same version they used to play on 105.9, the same one they used to advertise the Spurs games)
It first I thought it was 104.3 but I heard the legal id KPEZ-HD2 Jammin 103.1

I think it is a stunt like they did with Mega on 102.7 to promote HD radio.

Not the same Jammin as they play a lot of 2000 tunes, and added some songs I heard not to long ago on the Beat.
I did hear some classics from Roger and Zapp "Computer Love" in the 10:00 AM hour. If you are near some power lines it sounds very faint.

I guess I will have to charge up my insignia hd radio and hook it up to DVD recorders Audio inputs and record it.

Here it is: 59:47 mins/secs I tried to make it the best I could with it being a LP station and being so far from it.

Thanks! Where was this recorded from?

About 30 or so miles away from Austin, not bad since KHHL was trying to bleed in.

Yeah, its kind of interesting that they yanked this away from the Zone. Their imaging had put 103.1 front and center, emphasizing it more than their base at 1300am. Now all of a sudden its gone? I'm sensing the work of Jay Shannon.

Why would they put something like that on a "country" station on HD-2? Why not put it on KHFI HD-2? If I would of known it was on HD-2 I could of made the aircheck off of the HD channel. Maybe they want to run KVET to the ground and then flip it to Jammin 98.1.

I have not been on here in awhile and finally something new happening. I love how they are playing fairly recent songs with the oldschool jams. Has a dance lean as well.
