I re ad on the website that they're changing formats soon. Anybody know anything? On the website click on schedule then click on "Outside the Boxx" program on Sunday and you'll see the notice of the format change.

They must have taken that part down, I can't find it anywhere.

Not a lot of choices if they're changing from music, though.

Yes, that is gone now, so who knows. The only choice I see is all sports, since ESPN 1450 has gone to talk. ESPN 1400 in Decatur doesn't put a good signal into Huntsville.

I know most AMs in Huntsville have bad coverage (and some would probably say that's being too generous). How well can you pick up 1550 in the city limits? Whatever WLOR ends up doing, a simulcast on a sister FMs HD feed might be in order.

I'm 50 or so miles away and they sound like a local, during the day. Their night time coverage is not so good, and they do have some competition now that 1600,the old WEUP, has gone to party blues and oldies, same as WJLD in the 'ham.

I've known that you can do that page cache trick with Google to look at deleted pages--except I don't know how. Howdja do that?

At the bottom of each listing, next to the URL, there's an option that says "Cached". Just click on that link. :)

It has been my experience that WLOR is one of the better daytime signals in Huntsville. Around sunset they used to boom in around Birmingham; I've heard them in the late afternoons all the way up into Kentucky as well. Oh, and I've even gotten an ID on them right here in Grenada, Mississippi last summer, I believe. ;)

WLOR is probably the best AM frequency in Huntsville. It is a 50,000 watt power house during the day. Night time coverage isn't all that great but is better on the north end of the city.
