Jammin 94.1

Jammin dwindling ratings has force BMP to start running commercials on local TV stations. They've also reduce the noon time workout from an hour to less than 30 mins.

FYI BMP- The problem is the conservative playlist.

Interesting. I've noticed they've been doing more live events on the North side and wondered if that was a ploy to bring in more upscale listeners. The parking lot of the Bar Azul on Blanco Road is absolutely covered with Jammin' banners and pennants when the remote crew is there.

My personal favorite station in this format is Mojo 94.9 out of Cincinnati. BMP should give that stream a listen for playlist ideas.

Remember though when 106.7 jamz started out at the begenning, they were rhythmic AC then started playing more madern dance and then changed over to dance.

The current format that Jamz has will be a short live format. 106.7 Jamz dumped its Rhythmic Oldies format because of lack of listeners and advertisers. When 106.7 Jamz was Rhythmic AC/Dance they were in the top 10
in there target demos of 18-34 and in one book they were in the top 5. This is with competition from KTFM and Mix 96.1.

My guess is that 94.1 Jamz will continue it's downward spiral unless they start changing things up. And more 70's music is NOT the answer.

I would figure that depends on whether people who grew up in the 70s are in Jammin's target audience.

From my understanding their target demos is 35-54. When 94.1 first launch they were playing more rhythmic 80's mix in with 70's but now the format is more 70's. That's one of their biggest mistakes and the proof is in the numbers.

If BMP let's 94.1 fall out of the Top 10 in this market that would only leave it one Top 10 station, and that would be in Austin. BMP owns 35 stations from Dallas to the Valley and only manage to have two top 10 stations.

Several of BMP's station's in Laredo, the #208 radio market,
are currently in the top ten and they include:
KBDR, KQUR, KNEX, XGTS & KLNT.

Several of BMP's stations in the Rio Grande Valley, the
#60 radio market, are currently in the top ten and they include:
XAVO & KURV.

Thanks for the correction. Although in Laredo(#208), BMP owns 5 out of the 15 stations that are in that market. So it's a little difficult not be in the Top 10.

Yes, but of those 5, they have the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 stations in the market! That is somewhat more difficult to achieve. Is there any other market in the U.S. where one entity has the top 4 stations?

I would have to give BMP credit for accomplishing the top 4 spots, but then again it is market #208 with limited stations. It would be much more impressive if they would do that in Dallas, Austin or San Antonio. But we all know that's not going to happen. BMP runs every Jamz, Digital and La Ley stations all the same way. What works in Austin doesn't mean it going to work in San Antonio or the Valley. Digital is a perfect example of that.

Yes. Clear Channel has the top 4 stations in Santa
Barbara and they include: 1. KTYD 2. KSPE 3. KSBL
4. KTMS

Also. Clear Channel has the top 4 stations in Bismark,
ND and they include: 1. KSSS 2. KQDY 3. KBMR 4. KFYR

Does anybody know of any other U.S. market where a radio
group has the top 4 stations?

They stop mixing on weekends.

Well thats no good, I wish some of these stations will take a look at what smaller towns are doing, take Victoria for ex. 95KVIC does a mixshow all dance mix from 10-2am every saturday night. If Victoria can do it, so can san antonio!
