This format will have to compete with the likes of satilite radio, pandora, etc. The station will not make it if it begains at the same starting point as Jammin 92.5 back in 1999.

If I remeber correclty -getting old- the format was at its best when it went off the air - Old School and Today's R&B. It even had African American DJs!!
Jammin 101.5 will have to make some QUICK improvements to tweek its format to soming that will sounds good and that everyone will be proud of.

That said - good luck Jammin 101.5. You can do it!!

I remember this day just like yesterday, what a Horrible day that was when Infinity Flipped Jammin,
they will have to have a huge playlist, there are stations in Stockon , Ca and San Diego, and Fresno that have Jammin Oldies, but since this is not one of the Big Corp Stations, they should have much free range to have a long playlist.....not just the popular old school hits that got all the radio play but songs such as:

Funky Little Beat==Corrine
Evelyn Champagn King==If you want my Lovin
Paula Abdul==Knocked me out
La Bouche===

they need to really extend their playlist to good songs that just didn't get that much airplay

Keep in mind there is a reason these songs got little airplay. They were not hits! You gotta play the biggies, unfamiliar songs will kill a station faster than a tight focused playlist. This is a ppm world and feed back is about instant. I keep reading that they need a deep playlist album cuts and the like, BUNK, keep it tight bright and outasight.

Its not really "back". What you have is another radio station using the "Jammin'" name, that's all.

Well here are a few points to look at in Regards to the new "Jammin" @ 101.5 Vs. The Orginal "Jammin" that was @92.5

1) The Frequency and Signal could be an issue

2) You have a Smaller Owner in Max Vs. Infinity(CBS)

3) Is Max going to really dig deep and make this Version of Jammin even better than it was on 92.5

4) It could do well, you would need to probably bring in some old the people who were with Jammin back on 92.5(D.J.s, Staff, ....if they are available)

5) A Solid Morning Show

6) Good Weekend and Mix Shows....

7) Good Promotions an Jingles

Overall we will need to give Max Media time and see are they serious with the format and want it to do better than it was before...You also have a good Demographic Audeince....Latinos....Whites...who listened to Jammin....

KGMG 106.3 in tuscon and XHRM 92.5 in San Diego have Good Formulas..........

Sounds like the some ‘ole Jammin’ when I lived in Denver. Even with the “5,000 songs in a row”, it seems like there’s only 50 songs randomly repeated. Within a 2-hour period yesterday, I heard Kiss by Prince 3 times.

It would nice if Jammin’ sounded like this Clear Channel R&B Oldies station in Lexington, Kentucky (Groovin’ 1580)It has a nice sound and deep playlist of classic soul, old school R&B and dance hits.

I look at it this way.....

What does Max Radio have to lose by flipping 101.5 to a JO station? I mean, we're talking about a frequency where even Talk Radio failed here due to the signal it has.

If the frequency & signal can't even support Talk Radio, WHAT CAN it support that will make the owner lots of $$$ ??

Just my opinion.....

Cheers :D
