Jam'n 94.5's LAME attempt at copying Hot 96.9

So, Jam'n is now using the slogan "#1 for hip hop and the best throwbacks." Really, Jam'n? How original huh? Last time I checked, Hot 96.9 was using the slogan "#1 for today's rhythm and all the best throwbacks." Do you really think straight jacking the competition's slogan is gonna help you catch them? IS there any originality left over there at CC? I mean, obviously they have been on a downward ratings spiral and with Hot 96.9 finallly overtaking them, there is desperation over there. But to just blatantly copy the other station's slogan (or 90% of it) is just LAME and unoriginal...but I guess that goes with their whole presentation and playlist, doesn't it... LAME and unoriginal. This station needs to be killed off for it's own good. If anything, to successfully combat Hot you'd skew even younger then they do and include MORE current material and LESS tired recurrents... leave the classics for Hot and go for your own audience. But no, Jam'n is feebily grasping for straws and attempting to gain back it's audience they already lost when Pebbles and Melissa left. Try again, 94.5!

The thing is. There is so much NEW r&b and hip that Hot doesn't and probably won't touch. If I were 94.5 I would let Hot have the throwback's and concentrate on the 18 to 34 yr old's who want new music. I don't want to see Jam'n fail. I grew up listening to then wzou and eventually Jam'n through high school and college. Plus i think competition is a good thing.

I agree with you about not wanting the station to fail. I say this stuff with frustration, because I don't WANT Jam'n to be lame. I figured when Hot appeared earlier this year on the horizon that this would FORCE them to go more urban and current... But the opposite has happened, and they've gone back to just replaying the same old tired recurrents we've heard them overplay for 10+ years. (ie Sean Paul's "Get Busy", Rihanna's "Pon Di Replay", etc.) As well as simply copying the other station's slogan to try and confuse/win listeners. Not cool or innovative, just smells of a desperate and unoriginal move. They can do better. They're just lazy, as they've always been, while with no reason not to be - except now, the ratings are falling and their ass is on the line...
