jamz1015.com

Try going to www.jamz1015.com. No it doesn't go to the 101.5 Jamz website. It goes right to the Power 98.3 website. www.power983fm.com I guess CBS Radio forgot to get that website too.

This is the same type of thing Emmis did when Power 105.1 came to New York City. Because www.power1051.com isn't the website for Clear Channel's Power 105.1 NYC. The website is www.power1051fm.com. Emmis got hold of www.power1051.com before Clear Channel could get their hands on it.

There are ton of variations that are still available. If I were the one in charge of their web presence at Power, I'd be doing whatever it takes to avoid the obvious, even it means registering every domain name possible. Since the signal won't cut it, I'd make damn sure I was covering every base possible to avoid losing what little might be left.

I don't think trying to get websites with the same name in it like jamz1015.com isn't going to stop people from putting on 101.5 Jamz. Like I said in my first post. Emmis did the samething in New York City to Clear Channel's Power 105.1. Both Hot 97 and Power 105.1 are just about the same in ratings. So both are doing well.

CBS gets what they deserve. They are moving JAMZ to the KOOL building to try and muddy the waters with the other stations with similar formats in that same building. This is also the same station that had to use freefm1015.com for almost a year because they forgot to buy 1015freefm.com and had to wait for the domain to expire. That being said, if they wanted a souless box of records being played over and over, they did a good job with the new format. It sounds tight.

Why do you say the signal does not cut it?

Actually, the Towers Mountain signals aren't that bad, depending on the area where you're in. I get 98.3 throughout the west side with very little static. The worst location for reception of these stations that I've found in the Valley is in the shadow of North and Camelback Mountains, where there's killer multipath. But, how many hip-hop fans live in the Biltmore or Arcadia neighborhoods anyway? Reception is not bad in Mesa or Gilbert from my findings last fall. Even the South Mountain stations has its share of multipath along the AZ 51 and around the exit of the Loop 101 and Cave Creek Road.

Also, who knew that the most consistent sounding hip-hop station in the Valley may be the one that most people cannot receive (and I'm not talking about Power)? No one has been talking about 104.7-HD2 (I guess because the 7 HD Radio owners here aren't very big hip-hop fans).

I am in the East Valley/Mesa area, and I get all the new rimshots 95.1, 97.5, 98.3, and 104.3 just fine in car and at home.

It cannot be picked up clearly in malls, buildings or in a home for that matter. Like it or not, the signal sucks here in the valley.

I don't think 101.5 Jamz really cares - if you type in power983.com, it redirects to Jamz website. Payback I guess. In that case, Power REALLY should've paid more attention initially to that address.
