Just using the equivalent of the dollar store calculator in my head, roughly one tenth of Americans listen to the 20 stations in that cume list.

And of note, look how many AM stations are in the top-share'd, or top cume'd as compared with even fifteen years ago.

It's a little less. Cume is not exclusive, so all the LA stations, for example, share listeners in some percentage with each other. For example, KLVE in LA shares significant numbers of listeners with five of the six other high cuming LA stations.

The top 3 cuming NYC stations share huge amounts of listeners with each other, and even stations like WSKQ share with most of the other stations to some greater or lesser extent.

WQMG is the only station in NC in the first list, though the Norfolk station would reach a lot of NC listeners.

I haven't heard it in years (for one thing 96.9 the Kat messes it up at home) but the only other FM in that area doing secular music for African Americans has always leaned heavily toward rap. Black gospel there is heard on FM only on translators. Charlotte had an adult R&B station that did well even though the rap leaning station was somewhat more adult, though now Charlotte has two of those.

Wait, I missed one. I just saw the full list of total listeners and WSMW 98.7 Simon Greensboro was ahead of WQMG. So i found it strange that station wasn't listed. Only it was.
