Jan Jeffcoat leaving Fox26 Houston

According to Isaiah Carey's blog it was announced today>

She's taking over for Tamron Hall, who left Fox Chicago for New York. Hall had told some co-workers she was going to the Today Show; turns out she went to MSNBC instead.

Hopefully, they'll let Pattie Shieh anchor in the morning again, with Tom Zizka for the entire four hours. Rumor has it, Jose Grinan's gone in August as well. Shieh and Zizka had great chemistry together. Management thought they weren't serious enough, but I think when people are trying to wake up and get the blood flowing, they want a program that's entertaining as well as informative.

I agree. Tom and Pattie have great chemistry together. Snoman is right about morning. I would much rather watch two people having fun in the morninging admidst the news good or bad, in which they have to deliver. Of course, I don't get an opportunity to watch because I am on the air at that time.

Tom and Pattie are a good team, but it was Jan Jeffcoat that generated their stellar morning news numbers. It was only a matter of time before she moved up in Fox or on to a better operation than KRIV. No matter who takes over permanently, KRIV's morning news successful days are numbered. They don't have the Jan Jeffcoat type of talent in their bullpen and there are not too many good experienced anchors that would want to come to work for the horrible management team they have there at KRIV. That place is a revolving door and the people that work there are miserable. Jan is a one of a kind talent that can jumpstart a poor operation or boost a comer beyond their competition. Fox was lucky to keep her because she wasn't going to stay at KRIV for very much longer.

I think she would have stayed had they put her on the 9pm News, and the impending early evening newscast, which is the world's worst kept secret. I understand her husband is a News Talent Agent, so I'm sure he's always out there looking for the best gigs for his favorite star. Jan is nice, but a lot of the people behind the scenes have had issues with her, because she cannot be critiqued or corrected, if she mispronounces a word/phrase. And actually, the numbers started trending upward, when Zizka moved into the anchor chair in the morning. They just increased even more with Jeffcoat. However, here lately, the numbers have lagged a little bit. I don't think they had a good Sweeps. The numbers I've seen look way down from February, during the morning. The 9pm numbers look slightly off or flat. Needless to say, it's probably not what they are looking for, to sell the third and fourth quarter with. I look for even more changes to come.
