Janet England, Doug Mayes reunite for a good cause

Doug Mayes roasted by several people, including Cullie Tarlton (former WBT/WBTV general manager) and Janet England (co-anchor with Doug on WSOC-TV) at a charity event in Denver last night.

Many of the jokes centered around Doug being "tight with a dollar."

There's also video of Janet serenading Doug towards the end of the event.

It was like the years melted away...two old friends seeing each other....and the love and respect the pair have for each other was second to none.

It's an experience that I will never forget.....

if breaking news is the disease, then I'm the cure.....
 
I had forgotten Janet England and Doug Mayes were co-anchors.

I moved out of the Charlotte area when Doug Mayes was THE anchor on WBTV. When I moved back he was on WSOC and I think Janet Volz (her name then) was on WBTV.

The last time I heard Doug Mayes he was saying how much he liked Mix 106. That was then, this is now.
