Buffalo Janet Snyder "hanging up the headphones" from KISS

Alan Pergament is reporting that Janet Snyder will retire from KISS 98.5 in late May. He quotes an Audacy email that says “It's with VERY mixed emotions that we announce Janet Snyder will be hanging up her headphones on KISS 98.5 in late May to enjoy some much-deserved time off."

Perhaps it's like the Larry Norton retirement. She'll still be available for occasional special events.

Read more here if you can get past the paywall:

Best wishes for a well deserved retirement. AM Drive is a tough shift to do for so many years, even if you do get work from home. Now the question is, does Audacy replace her, or just bring in a show from one of their other CHR stations?

They still have Nicholas Picholas around. It's not as if he suddenly forgot how to do a morning show, but he'd have to transition from being a sidekick to the main host.

Also, small point of order re Perg's article: Janet joined Kiss in 1987, then went to Z100 in New York for a few years and returned back here in 1992.

I always thought Janet did a fantastic job and sounded great. She stuck around even though she had the talent to be in a larger market.

Nick is also very talented. It will be interesting to see if they have him continue and maybe introduce another female voice at some point.

Many don't leave on their own terms. Glad to see Janet able to wrap up a great run this way..
