Janie "Baker" Wheat

Janie passed away yesterday. She worked middays at KTYL for years and then later at KOOI. She had a beautiful voice and was very sweet and kind. She is greatly missed.

I will miss Janie....a wonderful voice and a good friend.

Indeed she had a great voice.

Funny and sad this post should appear....I wondered what happened to her and where she wound up after exiting the airwaves in good ol' East Texas.

She will indeed (and has already been) missed.

Condolences to her family.

i worked mid-days opposite janie for a few years. she was a pro, and i always hoped she would have moved to a bigger market. i respected her talent, and what a voice she had.

I know this probably sounds morbid, but does anyone have a link to her obit?

Would love to but that's an "invitation only" group. And I haven't been invited.
