January 2013 Cable changes

As of today MetroCast in Sanford, due to retransmission consent no longer broadcasts WBZ 4. Last year around this time we lost WCVB 5. I wonder if WHDH 7 is next? Other changes include price increases, CSPAN 2 moved from 21 to 19, Lifetime Movie Network moved from 72 to 47, Jewelry TV moved from Digital Basic 198 to Expanded Basic 198 and the addition of Shalom TV on Expanded Basic 246.

Changes for MetroCast in Rochester include price increases, WCSH 6 moved from 2 to 8 to make room for WGBH 2, CSPAN 2 moved from 47 to 19, Lifetime Movie Network moved from 72 to 47, Jewelry TV moved from Digital Basic 198 to Expanded Basic 198 and the adding of Shalom TV on Expanded Basic 246.

I wonder why MetroCast added Shalom TV though. What is the Jewish population in Sanford and Rochester? I also wonder why they would add a channel for Jewish people and take CKSH away from the French people a couple years ago. i guess it depends on which population is bigger.

Anyone else have Cable changes or will have changes soon?

Rochester, NH adding WGBH-TV? Isn't that city already in the Boston DMA? Also, I thought that WENH-TV was basically becoming a sister station of sorts for them now? As for me with Comcast in New Britain, CT, I'd have to check my last statement online. I know that no other broadcast stations would be added, unless it was something like CoziTV (WVIT-TV 30-2) being re-added, since that was the looping Weather Plus until a few days ago.

That would be odd/interesting if Rochester gets WGBH, because I live in the Nashua area, and Comcast pulled the plug on WGBH and WGBX a few months back (even though technically it is in the Boston DMA) and replaced it with WENH, which we already had to begin with.
