January On/Off Up/Down

January day power/pattern is from 7:30 AM-5:45 PM. So how
did our usual suspects do on the first day of the month?

Lumberyard 1440 popped on at 6:02:21 AM with a major stroke
of luck, as whatever song was playing in the Goldmine was on
its final fadeout. Within :02 of the PSRA? (52-watt lowtorch?)
coming on air, the TOH stager started, giving KAZG a legal ID at
sign-on (rare!) hitting at 6:02:34.

Power up to 5 kw was at 7:32:21 AM. Closed circut for catfish
(with a "C"): think you could indulge us in just how much wattage
the Lumberyard uses for its PSRA? It's just not strong enough to
be 490 or 500 watts, it actually sounds closer to 52.

Someone at Gumpdusky forgot to change both the calendar on
the wall next to the lamptimer, and the lamptimer itself, as the
carrier was cut using last month's 5:15 PM (+/- lamptimer drift)
parameters, at 5:17:27 PM. And lightning didn't strike twice--
although I'm sure Lightning Strikes is still in Goldmine rotation--
as there was no legal ID at sign-off. (One more demerit to add
to the Gumpduskers' file cabinet of naughtiness. ;))

Apparently the KayFuNNsters thought "if it's good enough to flaunt
it in December, let's keep doing it in January." ::)

What appeared to be power up occurred at 6:59:03 AM, and power
down at 5:58:45 PM. Same M.O. as far as signal strength being
equal all day between these times. If they did something else at
7:30 and 5:45, you couldn't tell in the 'Tuke.

And the rest (to become "the Professor and Mary Ann" for the next
season ;)), while I don't have morning stats, they all did their thing
right around 5:45 PM......except KPHX. Seems the Big 1480 is still
doing a "one-day delay" with power drop (as last month). Around
5:15 they were gone--to wherever they go with 500 w-N.

And a New Year tip of the fez to Oldiesfan for his January On/Off or Up/Down report! The Nurse and I were surprised to learn that at least three stations failed to reset their lamptimers to reduce power or dump carrier at 5:45pm  The fact that KFuNN once again failed morning and evening times came as no surprise. What comes as a big surprise is the lock placed on A Day In The Life of A Lamptimer - seems things got a bit out of hand perhaps due to early consumption of firewater by several posters. ::)

ok which 3 did not reset their lamptimers?

Yo, catfish (with a "C")...Akbar will tell you (after his Media Hut
event is done this weekend) as soon as you tell us what the
Lumberyard's PSRA power is. ;)

It's somewhere near 250 watts and a couple of months a year they do not get to sign on with that and have to wait until they can go at sunrise 5KW. Until a new transmitter is purchased (LOL) no 50 watts at night.. the Gates 5 is not type accepted at that power level.

Oh really? Then how come Lumberyard 14~Forty's PRSA is for 500 watts at 6am (when sunrise is after 6am) every month except December, January & February when their authorization is 490 watts? http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getimportletter_exh.cgi?import_letter_id=4028 And don't cheat Gumpdusky out of two watts as they're authorized to stay on at night with 52 searing watts of pow-pow-power!
