January PPM Ratings

Well, here we go again. The ratings came out for January: Here's some of the numbers:

KBMB (2.7)=but remember, they switched to HOT 103.5 and went completely pop/top-40 after MLK Day. We'll see how they'll really do for this month in March since this is their first full month of their new format

KSFM (3.1)=what is going on over there? Should go back to being more mainstream urban like they were few years ago and had success
KFBK (8.8)=no suprise
KBZC (1.8)=probably shouldn't play the same 90s songs everyday. There's other 90s songs that aren't played. Or maybe they should become an urban contemporary/hip-hop station

KDND, 98 Rock, 96.9=kickin' butt
KCTC 1320 (0.7)=could use some local shows. Some other ESPN Radio station affiliates have local shows

I'm not a major sports fan, but you're right about KCTC. All syndicated, whereas 1140 has lots of local content/talent. I'll listen to Carmichael Dave during my dinner break at work. Not so much for the sports stuff (although Kings news/talk is good) but because he's simply entertaining and local

They went more straight ahead CHR/Rhythmic, NOT pop. They just got away from being the "Sacramento's Official Hip Hop Station" and are including some pop now.

Kinda surprised at KXJZ not breaking the top ten....PPM may or may not be helping as a sales/underwriting or fundraising tool....or, some of the non-commercial suits remain full of crud when they talk about the station's popularity.

ESPN 1320 is good the way it is. It's painful to listen to 1140...kinda sad too, knowing their only sport is the Kings. Koz show's a disappointment, but I could only listen to about 5 minutes of it.Maybe it's gotten better. As long as Napear is around, they'll never get my point in the ratings. The Way We See It in Sacramento on 1320 is done just right. Two guys you can probably picture sittin at a bar talking crap. They make it sound good. The same thing is done on 1140 but it's finger nails on a chalkboard.

This doesn't surprise me. I don't see KSFM reverting back to "Hip-Hop/R&B", likewise with KBMB.

Koz's show is the best thing they got on 1140. While I sometimes listen to Grant, I cannot stand his rude and obnoxious behavior, calling people who disagrees with him "stupid idiots." That's when I change the channel. But 1140 is lackluster, and 1320-well, it needs some flavor.
