Japan Tonight on Channel 9?

I have this memory of a "Japan Tonight" promotion on channel 9 in either the late 1970s or early 1980s. For one night (or was it week?) they aired Japanese programs. Does anyone else have any memory of this promotion?

"The seventh program in this special evening of Japanese television, featuring seven hours of top-rated programs from Japan's Tokyo Broadcasting System, which aired on WOR-TV in New York. Tetsuko Kuroyanagi introduces this installment of "Sound Inn 'S'," a variety series."

The air date given is April 5, 1980.
