Sorry I have not had time to respond. I was too busy calcuating my company's generous contribution to my 401k.......

Really? What's the number down to now? How does this sell off effect those 401K's? The countdown is on ... did you think they were going to hold on forever?

Bone,

An implosion is when something collapses upon itself. My stock went up 9% today! I would not characterize that as an implosion. What did galaxy stock do today?

2 guys start a business and sell it for $26.7 BILLION. Definitely not an implosion.

Maybe a trip to Dennis Terrace will help you grasp the concept of implosion.
.6 and counting.

I am sure galaxy syracuse finally scared CC into selling.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not have any CC stock in my 401k portfolio, so not at all. As far as the 401k portfolio itself, vestation will decide that. Of course, you know this stuff.

So glad you're happy ... When you are out of a job, make sure all of your resume stuff is upto date, Ed hates incomplete paperwork when he's hiring people. If you make the cut, you can help me wash his Jag.

Sorry bone, you will never see me there. Even if I were "lucky" enough to make the cut, I am not ready to take a step backwards in my career. Sorry my financial news was not worse. I really wish your .6 was bigger. Maybe you would not have such a "small guy" complex.

Reading these posts from obvious Galaxy employees, I can't even believe that anyone can feel that working for Galaxy is a positive career move. Maybe you just haven't worked for a real radio organization and just don't know the difference. I once sang the praises of the Galaxy as well, untill they completley "shat" on me for all of my loyalty and dedication. Its been many years now and I've seen that the grass is certainly much much greener on the other side. The unprofessional manner in which they operate, they tyrannical rantings of an infantile CEO, and the complete lack of professional courtesy, positive and motivational management, has made be a much better radio professional. So there is one thing I can thank them for, I've seen how not to treat people, how not to conduct myself as a professional, and how not to run a radio station. I could tell you stories that would disgust you about how certain talented emlpoyees that have come and gone through Galaxys doors have been treated, whether its been broken promises, broken contracts, or uncalled for verbal abuse. I can't imagine anyone being proud to call Galaxy their place of employment, just ask anyone who has ever left there, Marty Santy, Bill Baker, Stew Shantz, Matt Raisman....the list goes on for miles..Can you think of any former employee that would ever say one positive word about this company? So Mr. Pettibone, enjoy your paycheck while your getting it, you'll also be one of those former employees of Galaxy someday, remember everything that you don't want to become and especially how you should never treat your staff or any human for that matter. Best wishes and good luck, you'll certainly need it..

Stew's still here, when I'm in Utica ... Between Frank, Gary, Stew and Myself, we're 1 ton of fun ... Sista, we've all been former employees somewhere and we're all future employees somewhere else. You don't have to so formal ... Scott or Bone is fine.

[EDIT]
[EDIT-vulgarity]

Clear Channel Exfoliation

Ya gotta hand it to the lady for a well stated post, nicely summarized and rather collegial (on the 'Cuse board?? Sign of the apocalypse!!) and she broke the ice in the thread, though it would be interesting to know what fine, warm-hearted company she works for these days.

And certainly, you gotta hand it to Bone (ever so carefully) for retorting philosophically, doing his best white-guy-hep-cat-speakin' and getting a double edit (like getting ticketed on 81 for speeding AND having a tail light out) for vulgarity. Nice to know SOME things on the board remain consistent.

Now seriously folks, who's going to barge into Utica-Rome and pick up the Clear Channel properties now that they've been put on the red list? Same for Binghamton (I'll pose the question here because the Bingo Board can be rather slow.) Who gets into that dog fight in thos emarkets for what's likely to be a 12x-16x cash flow price?

In other words, who's crazy enough to drink the cool aid?[/Mike]

uh-oh! Looky what All Access says today 11/20:

"More CLEAR CHANNEL exits are coming to light in SYRACUSE.

The POST-STANDARD reports that Sports WHEN-A 5-7p host BRENT AXE, AC WYYY (Y94) morning co-host RICK GARY, and Top 40 WWHT (HOT 107.9) evening personality DJ MAESTRO, plus one parttime sales assistant, have been laid off, along with the previously disclosed exit of Country WBBS (B104.7) evening host SKIP CLARK."

What will most likely happen, no doubt, is CC will probably gut those Utica and Binghamton stations all the way down to a transmitter and a computer, then sell them essentially for scrap. Gotta pay down that debt somehow, right?

What a joke... when we thought CC had destroyed "local radio", we were wrong... turns out they can completely obliterate it.
