Jarad: Lighting the (ratings) world on fire...

Wow, quite an impressive performance in the first full fall trend for the new "channelcast" stations. WBON actually remained steady, likely because its format was tweaked the least of the three stations musically. However, "NeoBreeze" is right near the bottom of the pack, behind a whole score of AM stations and stations from Connecticut. "Party Hits" doesn't even appear in the Riverhamptons book. Ouch!

Could this explain the rumor for the return of "The World Famous WLIR" on 19-Dec-05?

That would be awesome, though I don't think anyone is paying much attention at this point. That's the first I personally have heard of this rumor though...do you have a source?

According to a post on the message board of wlir.fm by DJ Cody "the World Famous WLIR" will return on Monday Dec. 19 to 107.1 and also will be streamed at wlir.fm He also stated that Andre has returned to TMO and will be on LIR tomorrow. I kind of agree with you that I'm not sure if anybody is really paying attention or feels great about being burned again and again. But wow a three month failure for "Channelcasting" that is pretty colossal misstep.

Does anyone know if they will keep the "channelcasting" concept, in terms of the airing of sponsorships? From the beginning, I thought that was actually a fairly decent concept, with two flaws:

1) Dumping the jocks
2) Changing the formats

I guess we'll find out tomorrow...

Re: The World Famous WLIR, Again?

I know I posted above, but reading some more of these comments as WLIR continues to play... It really does seem like a cruel trick. No liners of the sort saying "we're back!" or "we royally f-ed up with this whole ChannelCast crap..." -- just automated music. Hope there's some sort of official announcement from TMO, but not holding my breath.
