I note someone asked about them expanding into Vt. The 93.5 in Keene NH may reach a small part of it. He said they haven't really discussed it with stations but who knows. Answer to Q about them not taking 98.5 seriously at first:
>>
Jason Wolfe:
No we took them very seriously. CBS has tremendous resources and we knew they'd be a formidable competitor. Launching on FM did give them an opportunity to expose sports radio to a different audience and I think that had a lot to do with why they've been so successful so quickly. Now that we are on FM we are reaching those same people and it's made a big difference for us. In the end, though, content is content and if it's great content, people will listen
(as I've said if Mike 93.7 weren't doing as well as it was they might have started the // a lot eartlier, maybe even scooping them by going to FM before the 98.5 debut. 98.5 launched around 8/12/09 and 93.7 began the // of WEEI on 9/12/11)
And,ha:
>>Q: I don't think Howie Carr likes you
A: What would give you that idea?
(who knows maybe they get along and it's upper mgmt at Bala Cynwyd he doesn't like!)
