Jason Wolfe

Let's take this scenario...

John works at Circuit City. The manager puts out some new policy that John has a little problem with. John goes to his manager privately and discusses his displeasure with the policy. The following week at a staff meeting, the manager takes Johns complaints-which he secretly recorded-and proceeds to play them for the entire staff and starts to make fun of John for complaining.

Is Johns manager right in what he did?

No.

Apples & Oranges.

John doesn't work in an entertainment medium where the boss must be portrayed as the bad guy.

What part of "this is a radio bit" keeps getting lost on you?

Look...you don't like Jason Wolfe. Just say it, and move on. You're not grasping the logic behind why it's acceptable to run those calls, and it appears you never will.

"Private citizens" remain private. Nobody identifies by full name, or address. And even if the full name is broadcast, there's more than a slight chance that name is made up, and is an intern in a prod room doing their first radio gag. Which might be why they sound so sloppy in their delivery on the phone.

Just express your dislike for Wolfe. Expose your agenda. And move on. Your point is made. The counterpoint has been made.

This horse is dead!

That's probably what turned off Jim Baker, former Herald scribe who started referring to Ordway as
"the Big Zero". Baker "retired" from the Herald and is writing for a paper in a smaller town now, last I
heard.

those Jim Baker bits on the Big Show were vicious... also hilarious...

that STILL does not change the fact that other voicemails have been left for him, and they ended up on the air. Sorry everyone, you can try to spin it anyway you wantl, but it doesn't change the fact that he is unprofessional.

...and again and again and again, YOU STILL DON'T GET IT!!!!!!!! You still assume that every VM left for Wolfey which ends up on the air was real! Get with the program, man! They're ALL bits!

Neanderpaul, you like him, you've already stated that. So just like a Bush supporter I could lay out 5 millions things to show how many things he has done wrong and you still will wave his flag for him. He's smarmy. And if you are a friend of his..well...

I no longer believe it is a bit. The calls were made and the were sent public by Wolfe. End of story. He is in the wrong. My final word on this. Well, 3 more.....WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

I never said we were friends. I said we got along, and that he was always nice to me.

Give me an example of something that most people would find to be inappropriate, and I might agree. But, we're talking about this bit. And, in this case. You're in the minority. You're welcome to your opinion. It just happens to be the monority viewpoint.

I don't wave flags for anyone. Nobody's perfect. But, in this instance... the bashing's unwarranted.

The man has done a great job with WEEI. They're consistently top-ranked, and make lots of money. Most of their staff is happy to be left to do their gig. I'm trying to find the negatives. But, other than your personal dislike of him, what's he doing wrong? Putting Mike Adams in nights was a great move. I never knew the man personally. He may be a great guy, but on the air, I thought Sarandis was a tool. Arrogant, unlikeable, and the epitome of smug. I think Dale & Holley are good as well. Never really been a D&C fan. And the Big Show is what it is...a true-to-life representation of the behavior of Bostonians in bars all over the city.

When it's all said and done, all of us are judged by the ratings. And Wolfe is a winner.

...with WEEI. Who knows what's going on at WRKO. I haven't been there since he took over. By all accounts on this board, it's in turmoil. But, given the players involved, I'm not sure how much is on Wolfe's shoulders.

You might disagree with his programming philosophy, or talent evaluation, but the audience is the final arbiter. And they disagree with you.

If jason wolfe is indeed sending private comments to him made by listeners over to the "whiner line" crew so the comments can be played on air he should be fired.
