I have been listening a while to the radio and I have heard some things that get me when I hear them. Their are some suggestions I like to throw out there for the stations to pick up on. It could be the best thing to do. This of course comes from the average listner.
.1-Keep that station going. It may not be a big listner draw, but brings a cash cow for the Perichs and others at WJXR Inc.
.5-Good point to have an FM Spanish station and since I looked at the signal and gets into most of the Jacksonville city limits they will do all right. They do have an audience at least.
.7-Keep on going even it is a Class A FM station the ratings are their and should not be turned off.
.3-With no competition in the market Planet can just do what ever they want. If I were Cox I take 102.9 and give it a flip to alternative. Now that would send CC on a flip.
.1-Since the station and the signal is moving into Jacksonville I can not say much about the station. I would suppose a name change but since Norsan bought the AM just last week, I only suppose that a change in call sign would be in order and that Renda can claim the WSOS calls for it self. A format flip could be in order as well for 94.1. We will just have to see.
.1-Holds well as the leading Top 40 station in the market. It is one of the two Cox stations that have a full staff.
.1-It will hold its own with teh Lite AC format. Heck no competion is good for them at Renda, but warning this cssh cow may head for the GATOR.
.9-Holds its own with the new format. Seems to retain some of the oldies flare from back in the Cool days. It can do better if it had a night time jock and at least one weekend jock.
.9-Draws some listners away from the APE. It does hold its own. It is not going to go away anytime soon.
.1-It may be losing some listners to its new neighbor down a few notchs on the dial at GATOR (99.9). The morning show is so dry now. It seems more talk and less music, but some people like it and they do not care because they are the top rated station. Here is a warning for QIK: Watch GATOR they may bite before you know it.
.9-A very well formated "hit country" station with the mix of new and old. With more music, more feautres and more contest who would not want to listen. Besides we know a nighttime jock is coming but when?
.7-It has its ups and downs and I do agree it needs a jock for midday. Also needs to extend the The Kool Ride by and hour or Briggs can do 9-11 and AJ Davis could do 11-3. It would be like its one in Oklahoma KOMA. Even it is gone to the Greatest Hits of The 60's and 70's and no longer dubbs itself as an oldies station. It does need a power upgrade but the power it has now works.
.5-Keep it going. The station works and does not need to be shut off.
.9-Go Alternative. Your sister station The Eagle has killed you all off. Alternative would give CC heck and would love to have another station to battle against. Heck the ratings would shoot through the roof if they went alternative.
.5-Do not change the station. It has long been a Jacksonville staple and it needs to stay that way.
.3/105.5-Smooth Jazz indeeded and seems to work. Just leave the station alone because it works.
.7-Does not fare well with V or The Beat. It needs to really promote itself to draw more listners.
.5-This station has good line up and a great format. Salem would go nuts if it had to flip. Even Jax would to.
.3-The bird is dead. GATOR is going to kill this station off sooner or later. Since their is an FM Spanish going in Jax it could be time for CC to bring an FM talker back to Jax. Heck Real Radio does well in Orlandon, why not Jax. Heck it would give Cox some competition.
Lets see what happens.
