Jay Baker to Join the Hammer & Nigel Live BarCast

Yes this is a shameless self promotion (let the flame wars begin ;) ) of the Hammer & Nigel Live BarCast (roughly translated, a weekly podcast recorded live at a bar). This week we have Q95/Bob & Tom's own Jay Baker joining us this Thursday at 9pm at the Ugly Monkey.

The Hammer & Nigel Live BarCast features 3 radio rejects all fired from their respective employers in the industry. Jason Hammer, former Kelly McKay producer for WZPL and Sports Talk Show host for WXNT, Nigel, former X103 Evening jock and Radio Now Drive time jock, and silent partner/producer BS, former Assis. Producer MPOS & Producer for the Drive with JMV and former Web Director for X103.com, Q95.com, and WNDE.com, have all teamed up to do something creative now that we have boring ass jobs in the real world.

We are heading into our 6th show. Have mostly figured out the technical issues and are looking forward to improving a bit. With as many radio people here, if you have any suggestions on how to get the quality better and better we are always willing to listen.

As for the past few weeks of guests we've had Mel McMahon, Nikki, Gene Rodriguez, the Metromix Girls (Adrianne and Amy), Rupert, Derek Schultz, and Kevin Lee. Next week is Jay Baker and later in the month we have Bob Kravitz.

We are uncensored and just trying to have fun, so if you want, come out and enjoy $.50 Bud Light Bottles, and Karaoke following.

With the lack of traditional news coverage press releases are at least signs of life!

It's wonderful to see people who actually care about making some noise these days instead of ratings and money (although I'm sure they'd both love to get some of the latter). Hoping this keeps going strong for two wonderful guys!

Thanks for the kind words... and as always nothing goes as planned. Jay had to drop out yesterday, but the show moves forward. Have a couple of people who are looking into it, I'll update when we have something locked down.

Way to go guys and good luck! Love the premise. Was looking forward to an uncensored Jay Baker. Maybe next time!

Tell Nigel to email me with his equipment list! This is "Bubba". He'll remember who called him a diva! Just hand him a Snickers bar and tell him to email me!

Bubba, I will let Big Nige know.
As for equipment.. We are rocking a hodge podge (don't think I've ever spelled that out before) of equipment.

Hammer brings a lot of the cables and an SM58. Nigel brings in the speaker (not sure what it is) has a Shure mic himself (not sure which one) and a couple of the mic stands. I just upgraded to a Xoom R16 for multi-track SD recording and I bought my own SM58 to add to the mix. I also have a cheap 4 line headphone amplifier and an external soundcard to dampen the line in heading to my computer for U-Stream and backup purposes.

We are going to try to work out a way in the coming months to take phone calls via skype.
