Jay Mariotti arrested

I am sure Ozzy Gillan is finding this to be quite amusing.

I don't find domestic violence one bit amusing, and I'm sure Ozzie Guillen doesn't either. I hope his (hopefully) soon-to-be-ex girlfriend and the LA authorities give Moronotti exactly what he deserves. But I'm sure that Ozzie, Hawk Harrelson, Mike North, Moronotti's ex-colleagues at the Sun-Times, and everybody else in Chicago are hoping that this is the professional end of this idiot.

Go research the relationship between Guillen and Mariotti going back to the early days of Guillen's playing days. It was quite stormy at best. Mariotti often called Guillen a thug and a prison punk. Turns out Mariotti may be the thug.

Having lived in Chicago at the time, I'm quite familiar with Moronotti's feuds with Ozzie and just about everybody else in the Chicago sports world. I said that Ozzie wouldn't condone domestic violence, but I'll bet he's loving the fact that Moronotti's career is probably toast.

As Hawk Harrelson might say (and probably did, to himself): He gone! This career is OVAH!!!! You can put it on the booooooaaaarrrrrdddd.....YESSSSSS!!!!! ;D

Mariotti from limited knowledge of him from TV didn't seem like a nice guy.

I'm certainly no fan of Jay... he is a pompous, self-indulgent, self-aggrandizing, sanctimonious sports writer. A true example of "holier than thou", particularly when you consider his reactionary opinions/comments on issues that he has no actual knowledge of and uses speculation as his supporting evidence. Let's face it, very few people can stand him... all of that having been said, I am not quite willing to pile on the "domestic" situation issue as there has been no conviction; of course nothing would surprise me in the world of sports writers.

You'd think he learned his lesson, but he did it again! Felony stalking, domestic violence, and assault, as well as violating his probation from his last offense. This time he's looking at up to 5 years in prison, and I hope the judge gives him the whole 5 years. What a complete loser!

Can't wait to read the story after his cellmate shows him what "domestic violence and assault in prison" means. Enjoy the broom handle Jay.

He probably spent a fortune on the skank and she cheated on him. There are 2 sides to every story.

Doesn't matter. If that was the case he just should have just left her. You don't hit a woman. PERIOD!

Affairs of the heart shouldn't involve the fists.
If Jay Mariotti (or any other person who resorts to violence to solve their problems) was half as smart as he thinks he is, nothing close to this would happen ever.

Unfortunately, it won't happen. He was sentenced today to 5 years probation and 90 days "community labor." He also has to take a 52-week domestic violence course (Why? He already knows how to do it. ??? ) and show proof of enrollment before October 3.

Niiiiice. Typical LA star treatment (and he's not even a star). He should have been given 5 years (at least) in the pen. At least he's unemployable as a columnist or common-tater now.
