Jay North, TV's Dennis the Menace, 73

Yes he was! Joseph Kearns played the role and he had quite a long list of previous broadcast experience in radio. He played many, many roles back in the days of old-time-radio. Sometimes he had funny roles and at other times he was dead serious in roles such as that of a murderer. Joseph was an observant Mormon and balked at a proposal where he was offered the host job of a radio program sponsored by a wine company but eventually did it. If you have never given a listen to some of the radio programs from that era, you might want to try and end up enjoying what our parents did! My favorites are "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" with Bob Bailey the 75 minute version; "Suspense", "The Whistler", "Gunsmoke", X Minus 1" and a one time radio drama called "Earth Abides". All great stuff!!!!
Kearns was only 55 when he died. He was made up to look much older, like Irene Ryan as Granny and Redd Foxx as Fred Sanford.
