This is good news for rhythmic and dance music and I am very pleased with the news. I'm just wondering what took so long! With all the radio friendly pop, r&b, and dance tracks he released in the past, I find it odd that his latest single "down" was the one to break through. I guess "ride it" was a little too early for U.S. radio at the time. Probably would've been better off waiting until the Crookers remix of "Day 'n' Nite" to popularize here first before releasing that r&b/bassline tune, and "tonight" (which I really believed had the chance to make it and sounded rhythmically better than Ne-yo's "closer") never materialized on U.S. radio. At least he still managed to break in with an uptempo hit anyway. Well I'm looking forward to Jay Sean's (hopeful) success in the U.S. If the original versions of his hits make it, maybe the REMIXES can be used, too. After all, look what happened with "day 'n' nite"! Lets hope this opens the door for many more U.K. artists - the one who also make make DANCE hits - to cross over into U.S. charts.
