Jay Severin and Tucker Carlson:The Truth About Severin

Reported that Jay Severin has left Tucker Carlson's titanic disaster on MSNBC.

One New York newspaper wrote that Severin was acting as a prima donna. Wanted a limo to take him from his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island where he lives with HIS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS.

Funny, he broadcasts a daily talk show in Boston on WTKK 96.9 and presents himself as a swinging libertarian single and that he broadcasts his show from Boston.

Obvious, Mr. Severin is telling untruths on several accounts.

Tucker Carlson is the titanic disaster. Does anyone actually care what this lightweight thinks, and why do people keep hiring him?

I guess they'll have to revise those promos that implied Severin represented the liberal side on Tucker's "fair and balanced" (MSNBC's words) show. It's like getting Adolph Hitler to speak for B'nai Brith. This is actually even crazier than pairing the usually silent Alan Colmes with Sean Hannity.

MSNBC has been flailing around aimlessly for more than three years now. Apparently everything but REAL NEWS fails for them, but they keep trying. First it was moldy documentaries, then they tried Donahue for about five minutes and decided they would be better off trying to outFox FNC with the parade of conservative hosts. Nobody watched that either. Then this was the summer of me-too missing white women, and since "Greta owns the story" over on Fox, nobody wanted to watch that either. They also failed with Hurricane Dennis compared to CNN. Now they're back to hiring leftovers like Tucker Carlson and pairing him with the ridiculous Joe Scarborough who, tonight, will be exposing the witchcraft and devil influence of Harry Potter. That's right folks... Scarborough is going further out than Pat Robertson on Harry Potter.

Intelligent viewers will be rushing to grab their remotes. Maybe there's a CSI or L&O rerun tonight.

It goes with the territory.

When can we have a real news channel.

Given that both CNN and Fox News Channel fill their prime-time schedules with talk shows, maybe MSNBC can counter by running newscasts.

This tactic might get them better ratings, too.

Brilliant idea. Unfortunately MSNBC executives will never follow through because it makes good sense.

What amazes me is that their parent network, NBC, has a great team of producers, reporters, anchors and support staff. Plus NBC is the number one rated network newscast. Yet MSNBC appears to be run by the Three Stooges.

MSNBC is too busy being a 5th-rate imitation of Fox News Channel to actually attempt something semi-original.

Or maybe Bill Gates. :-D

Seriously, once Microsoft gets out of this partnership, things might look up even though they don't do much with the network anymore. Is MSNBC's HQ still located in New Jersey and if so, why not move them to 30 Rock with the rest of NBC's news operation?

'Situation' Severs Ties With Severin
Jay Severin is off MSNBC's 'Situation with Tucker Carlson.' Sunday's Page Six makes it sound like Severin wanted to leave: Their sources say he "didn't enjoy the commute from his home in Sag Harbor to the TV show's studio in New Jersey."

But the suggestion that leaving the Situation was Severin's decision is a "complete absolute lie," an insider tells TVNewser. In fact, he's been banned from the network: "You won't see him on MSNBC again," the source says. (And based on Severin's actions in Secaucus, "we were shocked to read in Page Six that he has a wife and daughter," the insider adds...)

Perhaps you should be running MSNBC.

With you at the helm, MSNBC will probably leave both CNN and Fox News Channel far behind in the dust!

What amazes me is that MSNBC's lead weekly morning program is a simulcast of Don Imus' radio program. A RADIO SHOW as the lead for a so-called 24 hour Cable TV News Network! What is even sadder is that most likely Imus' show is the top-rated program on MSNBC.

I've always liked MSNBC, but it's incredibly sad to see how they've fallen, especially since 9/11.

My guess is either 1) Space issues (30 Rock also includes the network's executive offices, and/or 2) Tax advantages/incentives in New Jersey that would not be available in NYC.

Imus is entertaining much of the time. He seems as though he's moved full time to the Imus Ranch while his cohorts remain in NYC.

Imus on MSNBC

> Imus is entertaining much of the time.>

When he's not talking about himself, his wife, their young son (I've never heard him mention anything about his adult children and grandchildren, if he has any), talking with his brother, or doing anything just plain uninteresting (like a majority of Rob Bartlett's flat bits), Imus can be a somewhat entertaining watch or listen. The ranch is another story.

The Imus family summers at the ranch. They'll be back on the East Coast after Labor Day.<P ID="signature">______________
